What's New?
I have been playing around with my button id badges. I have to admit they are SO FUN to make...I love mixing the colors and patterns! I just made 50 new styles using some new fabrics I just received from Lakehouse! One of my favorites are the hydrangea leaves and the cupcakes (of course:).
The "knitty" gritty...
-The reel comes with a clip on back and badge snap on id holder
-Retractable cord extends approximately 24"
-These are great to clip onto your pocket, purse or lanyard
New Id Badges
But, if you are a DIY-er, I also made the tutorial on how to make them! DIY ID badge tutorial

Fabric Knitting & Crochet
Knitty Fun Fact...
Most historians agree that knitting originated with male Arabian sailors and was basically a male-only craft until fairly recently in it's history. In many non-western cultures knitting has remained prominent amongst men and is now considered a unisex hobby.

Tool of the Week! Fancy Edges with your Rotary Cutter!

Just a few weeks ago, I got the new Martha Stewart ergonomically correct rotary cutter! I've been using it to cut down a ton of fabric for my rag crafts! In addition to the cutter, I bought the scallop fancy edge as well!

Our versatile rotary cutting tool is perfect for making precise, sharp cuts and shapes in paper, vinyl, poster board, foam, felt, and more. Both the soft-grip handle and removable blade shuttle are ergonomically designed for comfortable use by both left- and right-handed crafters. This tool securely locks into the guide rail of our wide craft rulers. Look for Martha Stewart Crafts replacement straight-cut blade shuttles, as well as three interchangeable blade shuttles that create deckled, scalloped, and rickrack cuts.

  • Blade guard automatically retracts when cutting
  • Snap-on blade shuttle can be used with or without the handle
  • Ergonomic soft-grip handle
  • Designed to work with our wide craft rulers and self-healing cutting mats

Alternative Yarns: Knitting with Fabric

Many of you know, I love to use unconventional materials to knit and crochet with. These are some of my recent color combinations that I have put together to use. These groupings come with 20 individual strips of fabric. Each strip of fabric is 8 yards in length, making a total of 160 yards per bundle. Each bundle retails for $15.00 for 160 yards.

My fabric yarn strips are available at heatherknitz.com, on etsy and in my lollishops store!
